Blyde River Wilderness Lodge
Surrounded by the peaceful Blyde River and the majestic mountains of the Drakensberg, the thatched lodge is situated in a private reserve, in an area famous for its panoramic scenery, its birds, its fauna and its flora. It offers travelers a unique Bush experience while enjoying the beauty of the surrounding nature. Streams of the Blyde River Wilderness Lodge are populated hippos and lizards, the reserve is home to Giraffe, Nyala, Impala, wildebeest, Zebra, Bushbuck, Duiker, Steenbuck, Waterbuck, Bushpig and Warthog.
The lodge is located along the famous scenic route in Mpumalanga in the Limpopo province near Hoedspruit and lies just 50 minutes drive from Kruger national park - Orpen gate.
The lodge is developing its own herbs and vegetables and all of their purchases done locally and to support farmers.
The lodge seems to have a partnership with "Pack for a Purpose" and to make the link with a local orphanage and the vulenrables children's Center, but is not very clear, so we expect you to go to learn more.
Pack for a Purpose is a NGO that aims to help local communities by showing travelers what they can bring in their luggage to help.
