Maison de la Photographie
The House of the photography of Marrakech is a haven of peace within the medina, a place off the beaten path of tourism that provides access through a single collection to the extraordinary diversity of the Morocco.
Created in 2009, by Hamid Mergani and Patrick Manac'h, with the ambition to preserve the heritage, these are now 10,000 documents from archives: postcards, newspapers, maps, documentaries, and especially photos of anonymous or famous photographers since the beginnings of photography until the modern period: 1879-1960.
Thematic exhibitions are held in the House of photography in the medina and travelling exhibitions in schools and cultural institutions.
En2018: "The Morocco of the photographers" is offered...
